My first solo guitar album - released in 2000.

I enjoyed performing these tunes for years. It was a great pleasure to perform for the various audiences who were into what I was doing back then.

The album also features a piano improvisation, an ambient 'Piantar' piece and 'Russian Dolls', a 'Piantar' piece which appeared on Much Music etc., in 1994.
On a technical note, I also introduced a couple new techniques on this album: 'Chordal Harmonics' and 'Eberhard technique', as well as some bent harmonics that still do it for me.

As I was coming up with tunes for my first album, I was also coming into an unusual approach to Improvising on Guitar, which involved retuning the guitar into a random alternate tuning that I would come up with before every piece. At this time ,my stage name was 'Wakan', which means 'Heart of the Sky' in Mayan and 'Sacred' in Lakota, because that's really how I really felt about it. Still do ! This album represents a big breakthrough for me. The entire experience profoundly changed my life, and is the subject of a book I'm writing, as well as an Music Education series I'm developing.

This is the long awaited release of Volume 2 of
'The Life Is Improvised Series'. Originally recorded in 2011, it features a full band improvising along with the random alternate tunings I came up with on that day. This was a first for me, and it remains a favorite of my own recordings. Weird and Wonderful, Sonic Cinema. Everyone played great, the session was enjoyable, and I managed to get legendary engineer Nick Blagona to add his expertise in the mix.
A fun time was had by all !
